Die Geschwister-Scholl-Realschule ist seit 2015 eine der vier Europaschulen in Gütersloh. Daher ist es uns wichtig, dass wir in den Austausch mit Schulen aus dem europäischen Ausland kommen und dies auch im digitalen Zeitalter voranbringen.
An unserer Schule haben sich Erasmus+ Projekte seit 2017 bereits etabliert. Darauf möchten wir aufbauen und mit eTwinning haben wir seit dem Schuljahr 2020/2021 die digitale Version für diese Projekte. eTwinning ist eine Plattform, die von der Europäischen Kommission entwickelt wurde und von Erasmus+ finanziert wird. Die dort registrierten Lehrer/-innen einer europäischen Schule können europaweit effektiver kommunizieren, kooperieren und Projekte entwickeln. Die dabei ausgetauschten Daten sind geschützt. eTwinning bietet dazu verschiedene Funktionen an: E-Mails, Gruppenbeiträge und den zentralen TwinSpace. Es gibt immer nur einen für sich geschlossenen TwinSpace pro Projekt. Nur zu diesem einen TwinSpace haben die für das jeweilige Projekt autorisierten Schüler/-innen und teilnehmenden Lehrer/-innen Zugang. Hier können Schüler/-innen und Lehrer/-innen Beiträge verfassen und Dateien, Fotos, Videos oder Audios einstellen. Auch E-Mails können ausgetauscht werden; allerdings ohne die Möglichkeit einen Anhang hinzuzufügen. Es ist eine Lerngemeinschaft Europas, ohne Werbung und „Fake News“. Der TwinSpace bietet den Schülerinnen und Schülern durch diesen europäischen Austausch eine sehr gute Möglickeit, ihre sozialen, kulturellen und sprachlichen Kompetenzen zu erweitern. Gleichzeitig möchten wir den Aufbau – vielleicht sogar langjähriger – europäischer Kontakte fördern.
Zur Schaffung dieser Chancen für unsere Schüler/-innen setzen wir, das Erasmus+/eTwinning-Team der Geschwister-Scholl-Realschule, uns ein. Das Team besteht aus fünf Lehrerinnen und Lehrern, die in allen Jahrgangsstufen und verschiedenen Fächern vertreten sind, um ein hohes Maß an Qualität für die Durchführung von Projekten zu garantieren.

Geschwister-Scholl-Realschule is one of four NRW official European schools in Gütersloh since 2015. Our mission is to collaborate, communicate and develop projects with schools throughout Europe.
Erasmus+ has taken place at our school since 2017 and is well established. Now, the digital age is here and there is a platform to help us excel at our projects since the school year 2020/2021. Let’s introduce: eTwinning. eTwinning is a platform developed by the European Union to help this mission succeed in the digital age and increase collaboration between students and staff throughout the EU. eTwinning makes it possible for schools to safely share data, increase communication and produce products together with much greater ease and speed. On the eTwinning platform we are able to go beyond Erasmus+ and initiate and implement new projects with many different schools and groups, increasing our ability to spread the ideals of the European community while improving students’ English, social, cultural and digital skills. Through this exchange, we want to establish – perhaps even long-term – European contacts. There are several functions available on eTwinning: eMail, live chats and our favourite, TwinSpace. In TwinSpace, students and teachers are able to share posts, private emails with no attachments, photos, videos, audios and much more. TwinSpace is secured through a password and only authorised students and staff of the special project have access to this project’s TwinSpace only. It is an educational “social media“ platform without advertising or fake news.
The Erasmus+/eTwinning-team at Geschwister-Scholl-Schule works for realising these opportunities to our students. The team is made up of teachers from all grades and subjects in order to guarantee a high level of quality in all aspects of project implementation.

H.E.R.O. – Help everyone, reach out! ist der Name unseres neuen Erasmus+/eTwinning-Projekts (Projektnummer: 2023-1-DE03-KA121-SCH-000131702). Schülerinnen und Schüler aus Spanien, Dänemark, Lettland und Deutschland arbeiten hieran zusammen. Als Grundlage dazu dient die digitale Plattform eTwinning-TwinSpace, auf der sie sich inhaltlich austauschen können. Dazu benutzen sie die englische Sprache, die in allen vier Ländern unterrichtet wird.
Die Schülerinnen und Schüler sind ein wichtiger Teil der Gesellschaft. Daher lernen sie in diesem Projekt, wie sie sich aktiv in die Gesellschaft einbringen können. Dafür werden ihre Kompetenzen für die Organisation von und die Teilnahme an Aktivitäten für ehrenamtliches Engagement gefördert. Auch die Themen Demokratisierung und Digitalisierung spielen dabei eine wichtige Rolle. Hier sind ein paar Beispiele:

H.E.R.O. – Help everyone, reach out! is the name of our new Erasmus+/eTwinning project (project number: 2023-1-DE03-KA121-SCH-000131702). Students from Spain, Denmark, Latvia and Germany are working together on this. The digital platform eTwinning-TwinSpace serves as the basis for this, on which they can exchange content. To do this, they use the English language, which is taught in all four countries.
The students are an important part of society. Therefore, in this project, they learn how they can actively participate in society. Their skills in organizing and participating in volunteer activities are trained. The topics of democratization and digitalization also play an important role. Here are a few examples:

Be A.C.T.I.V.E., Be Happy! ist der Name unseres Projekts. Das Akronym A.C.T.I.V.E. steht für Action (Aktion), Culture (Kultur), Teamwork, Inspiration, Vitality (Vitalität) und Exercise (Bewegung). Diese Elemente sind in unserem ständig zunehmenden digitalen Leben sehr wichtig. Wir präsentieren Tipps im Sinne des lebenslangen Lernens, um das Wohlbefinden im digitalen Zeitalter zu verbessern. Dazu arbeitet die GSS mit Schulen aus fünf weiteren europäischen Ländern an unterhaltsamen, kooperativen Aktivitäten zusammen, zum Beispiel:
Die Schülerinnen und Schüler erfahren, wie sie ihr Leben in einer Welt voller digitaler Einflüsse und Geräte in Einklang bringen können. Sie werden sich bewusst, wie wichtig es ist, ein Gleichgewicht zwischen dem On- und Offline-Leben zu finden. Jedes teilnehmende Land wird sein spezielles Wissen in den Bereichen vorstellen und teilen. Damit verbinden wir die folgenden Ziele, um aktiv und glücklich zu sein:

Be A.C.T.I.V.E., Be Happy! is the name of our project. The acronym A.C.T.I.V.E. represents Action, Culture, Teamwork, Inspiration, Vitality and Exercise, as these elements are very important in our ever increasing digital lives. We will provide tools for life-long learning on how to improve well-being in the digital era by collaborating on enjoyable cooperative activities, for example:
Students will discover how to balance their lives in a world filled with digital influences and gadgets. They will become aware of the importance of striking a balance between the on- and offline life. Each participating country will present and share its special expertise in the fields related to being active and happy by our goals:

2017 bis 2019 hatte unsere Schule das Glück an zwei von der EU finanzierten Erasmus+ Projekten teilzunehmen bzw. diese zu koordinieren.
Das erste Projekt trägt den Titel „We are all in one boat“ und hatte die Zielsetzung, Schülerinnen und Schülern die Möglichkeit zu geben, die Vielfalt und Geschichte Europas zu erleben.
Das Projekt „We are all in one boat“ wurde von unserer Schule koordiniert. Koordinierende Lehrerinnen waren Frau Spannuth, Frau Fordkort und Frau Groß. Unsere Europa-Partner sind Graudenz (Polen), Serres (Griechenland) und Padua (Italien).

In 2017-2019 our school was fortunate enough to be involved in two Erasmus+ projects co-sponsored by the European Union.
The name of the first projects is “We are all in one boat” and it offers students a unique opportunity to experience the diversity and history of Europe.
The project “We are all in one boat” was co-ordinated by our school by Mrs. Spannuth, Ms. Fordkort and Mrs. Groß and their team. Our European partners for this project are: Graudenz (Poland), Serres (Greece) and Padua (Italy).

Das zweite Projekt, „Walking the Line“ (ebenfalls 2017-2019) wurde von unserer Partnerschule in Cornellà, Spanien koordiniert. Hier in Deutschland hatten die Leitung Frau Tenge-Rietberg, Frau Klose und das Team. Die Partner dieses Projekts sind Marijampole (Litauen), Foto (Italien) und Craiova (Rumänien) sowie natürlich Cornelia in der Nähe von Barcelona (Spanien).

The second project, “Walking the Line”, was coordinated by our partner school in Cornellà, Spain. Mrs. Tenge-Rietberg, Mrs. Klose and their team organized the project at GSS. The partners for this project are from Marijampole, Lithuania, Noto, Italy, and Craiova, Romania and of course, Cornélla, Spain (near Barcelona).
