On July 1, 2014 several students from the Geschister Scholl Realschule recieved awards from the NRW Minister of Education, Mr. Keferstein, for winning the 2nd and 3rd prizes in the 61st European School Competition (Detmold District).
The winners included: Jacqueline Tschechowski, Justin Hapke, Paulina Dorroch, Anja Wittenstein, Birte Gellermann and Katherina Hönisch and Ascena Tonbul.
The students won by producing two videos about the future of family life in Germany and Europe. One film compared family life in Germany and Poland –including an interview with Gütersloh`s popular mayor, Ms. Unger.
The second film used data collected from our European partner schools in Spain, Poland and Greece to create a film about the importance of family life in Europe. It was a very interesting project and our students can be very proud of themselves. Great job!
Many thanks to the winners and especially the input from our friends at our partner schools! We couldn’t have done it with out your support.
