On 23rd January, 2023, we had an internal workshop day at our Europe school Geschwister-Scholl-Schule (GSS) for the staff. One workshop, that was lead by Mrs Ludger, was about the digital platform eTwinning and how to include it into lessons. The participants have already been registered on the platform eTwinning. So, their basic knowledge about eTwinning got extended in this workshop. The video “eTwinning – kurz erklärt“ gave a good overview of the functions of eTwinning at the beginning. The participants learnt how to get in touch with European teachers on eTwinning, how to establish digital European projects with schools abroad and how to use the TwinSpace in projects. The TwinSpace is the students’ communication and working platform in eTwinning-projects. As a last part of the workshop, the participants registered themselves on the new eTwinning platform.
Moreover, the participants got to know the connection between eTwinning and Erasmus+ as they are interested in international Mobilities as well. eTwinning is a perfect start for getting to know international partners better – students and staff. After a digital project, the project can be extended as an Erasmus+ Mobility. The GSS applied for the Erasmus+ accreditation in October 2022.
The internal workshop lasted one hour. So, Mrs Ludger had time to give this workshop three times at that day. By this, more people of the staff had the great chance to get motivated for working with eTwinning at GSS. About 20% of the staff took part in the workshop – teachers, pedagogical advisers and artists. At the end, everyone got a certificate of attendance.
